Online Therapy in New York
FOR PANIC ATTACKS, OCD, ADULT ADHD, ANXIETY, EATING DISORDERS, & BODY IMAGE
DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?
There is never enough time in a day. The stress of work, chores, and family is getting to you. You know therapy can help, but worry about fitting it into your busy schedule. There is a reason they call New York City the city that never sleeps. But spending more time on the subway commuting to therapy in Manhattan or Brooklyn is not your idea of fun. Neither is sitting in traffic on the Kosciuszko or Williamsburg bridge. There is an easier way. Online therapy is a convenient, comfortable, and accessible alternative to in-person therapy.
Online therapy, also called “telehealth”, is convenient, effective, and easy as 1-2-3

ADVANTAGES OF TELEHEALTH
Telehealth makes therapy more comfortable and convenient.
SOCIAL DISTANCING
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a big negative impact on mental health. If meeting in person is a concern for you, telehealth offers a safer and easier option. If you feel more anxious or your OCD has become worse because of COVID-19, remote therapy can be a great option. It can help you feel better by gradually expanding your comfort zone.
FLEXIBILITY
Online therapy opens up more creative options for engaging in therapy. For example, you can practice doing scary things at home to feel more comfortable. When you're ready, you can face your fears outside with my support by using video therapy on your phone or tablet.
HOME COMFORTS
The great thing about doing online therapy from home is that you can get more comfortable. You can wear comfy sweatpants, cozy up on your favorite chair, and have your pet on your lap while taking some time for yourself.
EFFECTIVENESS
At this point, you may think, “Sure, online therapy sounds good, but is it effective?” Yes, it is! According to research, video therapy is equally as effective as in-person therapy. What matters most is finding a therapist who is a good match for you. I hope that I can be that therapist for you!
ACCESSIBILITY
I started Compass CBT as a virtual therapy practice to help people in New York get better access to evidence-based therapy. It's difficult to find skilled therapists in some regions of New York. This makes it hard for people who are looking for research-supported approaches such as CBT, ERP, ACT, DBT, MSC, or HAES for anxiety disorders, panic attacks, OCD, eating disorders, or body image issues. Telehealth is also a good option for people with physical challenges that make getting to an office difficult.
PRIVACY
If you want to avoid seeing someone you know or talk about personal matters privately, you can trust Compass CBT to prioritize your privacy. There are many measures to keep your privacy safe, such as using secure health records and encrypted videos following HIPAA rules.
TIME
When juggling work, chores, and family, finding the time to fit in therapy can be challenging. With virtual\ therapy, you can talk to a therapist online whenever and wherever it works for you. You can skip the subway commute and squeeze therapy in during your lunch break or before picking up your kids. Setting aside a small amount of time for therapy can significantly improve your quality of life.
